Hey there! I'm Brett Seegmiller, an author and UX Designer. I’m all about crafting compelling stories and designing experiences that feel seamless and intuitive. Writing and design might seem like two completely different worlds, but to me, they both come down to connecting with people—whether that’s through a story or a user interface. You can check out my UX portfolio here.

My writing journey started with a deep love for books and a fascination with how words can transport you to completely different worlds. I’ve always loved building stories that feel alive, where readers can get lost in the details and really feel like they’re part of the adventure. Before I dove fully into writing, I spent two years serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That time shaped me in big ways, teaching me about empathy, compassion, and having a sense of purpose—things that definitely sneak their way into my stories.

One of the coolest things about being a writer is that I don’t have to do it alone. My family has been a huge part of my journey, not just cheering me on but diving into the creative process with me. My wife has been my rock, always encouraging me and offering insightful feedback on my ideas. And my son? He’s pure joy and inspiration. Watching him explore the world with curiosity and wonder reminds me why I love storytelling in the first place. They both keep me motivated and help me find balance in everything I do.

I'm also a co-founder of a family venture called Seegmiller Publishing. It started when two of my brothers and I—three siblings passionate about telling good stories and sharing them with the world—decided to join forces. It’s our way of supporting each other’s writing dreams and bringing our stories to life on our own terms. Self-publishing can feel like a daunting world, but doing it as a family has turned it into an adventure we’re tackling together.

My skills as a UX Designer have come in valuable in unexpected ways, not just in my professional career but also in my writing projects. I designed both this website and the site for Seegmiller Publishing, making sure they’re easy to navigate and reflect who we are as creators. Those design skills also came in handy when it came to book covers. At first, I hired graphic designers to handle them, but I eventually realized that I could create exactly what I wanted if I did it myself. It’s been a fun challenge blending storytelling with visual design, and I love having full creative control over how my books look and feel.

Outside of writing and design, I’m just a guy who loves spending time with my family, digging into a good book, or finding inspiration in the little things. Feel free to explore my website for updates on my latest projects—I’m excited to share my journey with you!
